Shell's Minority and Women Business Enterprise programme sets out to develop and implement programmes that provide opportunities for US businesses owned and operated by minorities and women.
A minority-owned business is a for-profit enterprise - regardless of size - located in the US or its trust territories, operated and controlled by minority group members (US citizens who are Asian, Black, Hispanic or Native American). Ownership by minority individuals means the business is at least 51% owned by such individuals or, in the case of a publicly owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals. Furthermore, those minority group members must control the management and daily operations of the business.
How can you get involved in the Minority and Women Business Enterprise programme?
- Complete an application verifying 51% ownership, management and control by a group or individual who is a minority or woman with US citizenship
- Acquire certification by a local purchasing council affiliated with NMSDC, WBENC or one of their local affiliates.
- Register on-line and complete the Supplier Profile at www.shellus.com/mwbe (opnes in a new window)
