Q. How is Shell following SPL's example and helping the communities where it operates?
A. There are many ways in which Shell supports local communities. For example, in the Philippines, Shell and the Pilipinas Shell Foundation - a non-government organisation specialising in developing skills - developed a programme to train local people so that they could be hired to help build a new gas plant. In the UK, we launched the Shell Springboard programme, which provides financial support to small companies with business ideas for tackling climate change. These are just two examples - follow the related website link to the right for much more information on all aspects of Shell's commitment to society.
