Shell is offering to all third parties a combined total of up to 250,000 tonnes per year of additional terminal capacity at Moerdijk in the Netherlands. Under these arrangements, liquid ethylene can be imported in sea-going vessels and delivered back as a gas into the pipeline system in Antwerp.
In any given year, after 2003, the 250,000 tonnes of annual additional terminal capacity available will be reduced by the amount committed to under any multi-year contracts already entered into and still valid.
As these multi-year contracts are completed, this will be reflected in the exceptions shown in the table below.

This is part of the commitments given to the European Commission during its investigation into the formation of Shell & DEA Oil in Germany. The offer is for annual contracts (or multiples thereof) for an agreed volume (with a minimum take or pay), evenly spread throughout the year. Expressions of interest to enter into an annual (or longer) contract must be received by 30 September of the preceding year.
