The total chemical oxygen demand of aqueous effluent streams from Shell chemicals companies decreased in 2006.

*Chemical Oxygen Demand is a laboratory measure of the amount of oxygen required to oxidise the constituents of an aqueous waste stream. It is one indicator of the potential environmental impact of discharges to water.
