As part of their commitment to Product Stewardship, the Shell chemicals companies are continually looking for ways to help customers reduce the potential risks of handling and using their products. As part of that commitment, the Shell Chemicals Benzene Product Stewardship Manual was updated in September 2004.
This comprehensive manual includes the following main sections:
- Benzene identification, production and end use
- Health hazard information
- Ecotoxicity/ecological fate
- Regulatory overview
- Handling and storage information
- Fire safety, spills and leaks
- Transportation
- Pollution prevention
The Benzene Product Stewardship Manual has been written specifically for the use of benzene customers. As such it is only available in the Customer Lounge. To find it, log into the Customer Lounge and look for the Information Library on the home page. Select ‘reference literature’ and then choose ‘benzene’ in the search menu. You can then select to view the entire manual or just individual sections of it.
