There have been a number of examples of product mis-use in China in the past year. These incidents have damaged the reputation of the country’s manufacturing sector and resulted in significant financial losses up and down the supply chain.
Against this backdrop, Cissie Yeung describes how Shell companies apply a strong, consistent approach to Product Stewardship to ensure the careful management of all product risks, from the point of discovery through to final product disposal. As a result, Product Stewardship adds significant value to our business operations.
In her presentation, Cissie Yeung shares some of the secrets of success of the Shell approach and highlights a number of case studies that show how Product Stewardship principles are put into practice. She also puts forward some suggestions for ways in which the chemicals sector in the Asia Pacific region can work together to build reputation and trust.
